NYSPA’s Maternal & Infant Health Advocacy Award

NYSPA is a state-wide alliance of health and human service professionals concerned with perinatal health issues from preconception through early childhood and the only multi-disciplinary perinatal health organization in New York. We advocate for optimal perinatal care and parenting and promote education and research, strive to influence state priorities and encourage a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary approach to maternal and child health with the goal of reducing maternal and infant mortality and morbidity.

Consistent with NYSPA’s purpose to advocate for appropriate legislation, funding and other regulations to advance the health care systems that care for pregnant individuals and infants, our goal is to recognize the unique and exceptional actions by an individual to protect women’s health, reproductive rights, women’s and infants’ health care, health care access, and/or improving systems of care.

The Maternal & Infant Health Advocacy Award is awarded no more than once each calendar year and it need not be awarded annually. [The Maternal & Infant Health Advocacy Award has only been awarded a few times throughout NYSPA’s 38 year history due to its significance.]

Any NYSPA member may nominate a candidate. The nomination must be received on or before May Please download, complete and email this nomination form to [email protected]. Recipient’s contributions should have contributed to improved maternal, infant or reproductive health health within the State of New York.
